Manager Operations

About the job

Nirantara is looking for an Operations Manager to manage its expanding microfinance operations in Karnataka & Maharashtra. The Operations Manager will be currently overall in-charge of microfinance operations of Nirantara. The candidate should be highly motivated and willing to work in the challenging yet exciting environment.

Tasks and responsibilities:

The key role of Operations Manager is to ensure overall management of effective & efficient operations systems and implementation of strategic business plan of the organization. He/She has to involve in:

  • Planning & implementation of Strategic Business Plan for the organization

  • Establishment of new area / district office and necessary systems to make the operations functional and profitable

  • Planning of area level and branch level projections and supporting the team in achieving them

  • Day to day monitoring of operations of area office and branches and ensuring operational controls

  • Recruit operations staff and facilitate the development of their skills and knowledge; Training and motivating operations staff

  • Performance assessment of operations staff and achieving desired optimum productivity in all levels

  • Generate for review by CEO, monthly and quarterly financial and narrative reports on operational achievements

  • Regularly report to stakeholders the progress towards goals as well as plans for the next reporting period;

  • Involvement in policy decisions for improving Nirantara’s internal systems, developing and making recommendations, creating innovative operations and training methods, cutting costs and achieving efficiency

  • Other duties assigned by the CEO necessary to accomplish the mission of Nirantara.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate/Post Graduate in any field

  • Minimum 5 years of monitoring experience in a professionally managed MFI replicating Grameen Bank System (at the level of Area Manager) or other methodologies

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and experience dealing with issues of a confidential and sensitive nature.

  • Ability to efficiently and effectively organize and prioritize several tasks at once.

  • Appreciation and support of Nirantara’s mission, values and goals

  • Should know Kannada/Marathi, Hindi and English.

  • Good communication, documentation, negotiation and computer skills

Area Manager

About the Job:

Nirantara is looking for Area Manager to be based out of District/Area Office. The AM is essentially an operations manager for the entire district/area and has to monitor day-to-day operations of 4-6 branches in his area (which is essentially a revenue district) and report to the core management team on regular intervals. The candidate should be highly motivated and willing to work in the challenging yet exciting environment.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

The key role of AM is to ensure management of effective & efficient operations systems and implement strategic business plan of the organization. He/She has to involve in:

  • Implementation of Strategic Business Plan

  • Establishment of new branches and necessary systems to make them functional and profitable

  • Planning of branch level projections and achieving them

  • Day to day monitoring of operations of branches and ensuring operational controls

  • Training and motivating branch staff

  • Performance assessment of branch staff and achieving optimum productivity in all levels

  • Work as a bridge between HO and branches and ensure two-way flow of information and communication to all the stakeholders

Skills/qualifications/experience:

  • Graduate/Post Graduate in any field

  • Minimum 5 years of monitoring experience in a professionally managed MFI replicating Grameen Bank System (at the level of Area Manager) or other methodologies

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and experience dealing with issues of a confidential and sensitive nature.

  • Ability to efficiently and effectively organize and prioritize several tasks at once.

  • Appreciation and support of Nirantara’s mission, values and goals

  • Should know Kannada/Marathi and Hindi.
